We won’t hold it against her that she was on the pitch when the US Women’s National Team recently lost to Mexico for only the second time in history… especially since Alexia is a Sun Devil! A former ASU Soccer captain, she describes how the U.S. collegiate system is the best Olympic and professional sports development system for the world’s athletes, and recounts what it was like to come to the US and be a part of a very international ASU soccer roster.
We had people from all over the world, pretty much like the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Canada, Iceland, everywhere…It was really cool to experience all those different cultures. I think that definitely made the team grow. You get to hear so many backgrounds.
