In advance of the 2026 men’s FIFA World Cup, the Great Game Lab partnered with New America’s Us@250 Initiative to chronicle how some of the US host cities became World Cup cities; how they became connected to the world through sport, and the world’s game. With support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, Great Game City Fellows are telling this story in Atlanta, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and San Francisco.
